Using Exclude Object

When one separate object fails during a compatible multi-object print, Exclude Object may let the printer stop making that object while it continues the others.

Prepare the job so separate objects can be identified

Use separate objects

The feature is intended for a plate containing multiple individually identified objects. It cannot remove only one damaged area from a single combined model.

Check the output setting

Confirm that the slicer’s object-identification or Exclude Object output is enabled for the selected printer profile.

Inspect the preview

Make sure each object is positioned correctly and can be recognized separately before sending the print.

If One Object Fails

Protect the remaining print first

Exclude only the failed object

If the printer supports the feature, select the failed object by its displayed name or position and carefully confirm the choice. Continue watching the next several tool movements.

Stop the whole job when necessary

Cancel the entire print if loose filament, a detached object, a collision, spreading damage, or an uncertain selection could endanger the toolhead or the remaining objects.

Confirm support before depending on it

OrcaSlicer documents an Exclude Objects output option that adds object-exclusion information to generated G-code. Printer and firmware support still determine what controls are available during the actual print.
